The Railway Children
Regional Theatre
All Aboard! Phil recently performed as* Mr. Perks*, the beloved station master, in this regional theatre production of E. Nesbit's classic family tale adpated into a festive musical by Woolford & John.
Phil played the role of Mr. Perks in a musical adaptation of The Railway Children, E. Nesbit's cherished story of family, community, and wartime resilience.
The production brought the Edwardian-era tale to life for UK regional audiences, featuring the iconic station master who becomes an unlikely ally to the Waterbury children after their move to the Yorkshire countryside.
As one of British literature's most enduring family stories, The Railway Children has captivated generations since its publication in 1906, and this musical adaptation continued that tradition, combining period charm with the timeless appeal of Nesbit's characters and themes.
A mysterious circumstance forces Bobbie, Peter, Phyllis and their mother to swap their privileged London lifestyle for an impoverished existence in rural northern England. As the children adapt to their new environment they find interest in the nearby railway. Their curiosity creates adventure and uncovers many characters that will help shape their journey
